Competitions Magazine

The official magazine of the Competition Project, Inc.

WHAT IS THE COMPETITION PROJECT?

The Competition Project, Inc. is a non-profit corporation which serves as a clearinghouse for information and ideas on design competitions, both in the United States and abroad. In some cases, we can also provide assistance in the preliminary planning and organization of design competitions. For a list of competition advisors, visit the Architect Selection section of our website.

The Competition Project publishes COMPETITIONS (ISSN 1058-6539), a quarterly magazine, which reviews past competitions and announces upcoming design competitions in architecture, landscape architecture and planning. It is supplemented by instant email notices about results and new competitions as we hear about them. After subscribers are notified, we also post announcements in the News section of our website. With announcements regularly posted through email and the website, we will no longer publish the quarterly newsletter supplement, CompetitionHOTLINE, as of the 2008 subscription year.

If you would like to publish an announcement for an architectural, landscape, or planning design competition on the website or in the magazine, please email your competition brief to hotline@competitions.org. Please see the News page for guidance on your announcement's layout. All announcements are published free of charge.

They offer architects unique opportunities to pitch for work, and the careers of many name architects have been made by winning an important competition - Richard Rogers, Renzo Piano, Dominique Perrault and Jean Nouvel to name but a few. This is the definitive book on architecture competitions from over the last decade, and will be an essential guide to any architect or student who is considering preparing a submission.
