Stage 1 Up to 6 Shortlisted Teams - ¤20,000 each

Stage 2 Up to 3 Shortlisted Teams - ¤10,000 each

The selected winners will be requested to develop their design and subsequently participate in an individual workshop/negotiation with the contracting authority. Following this, the final winner of the urban planning competition will be selected.

THE COMPETITION:

With this competition, Svendborg Local Authority wishes to initiate urban planning of an area of about 800 hectares, located to the west of the town of Svendborg. The area, Thoughtful, is to be a new urban district that supplements the current housing and business areas in Svendborg with new types of housing and facilities for knowledge-based and creative businesses. The urban plan must include new housing and business areas, public service facilities, cultural facilities, green areas, road traffic infrastructure, etc. The promoter would like the Thoughtful area to be a place where buildings are blended into the wonderful natural environment to form a landscaped town based on a wealth of new thoughts, ideas and visions about how people can live and work in close contact with themselves, each other and the natural environment.
