Design Challenge:
The Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra announces a two-stage architectural competition for a conceptual design of a 1800-seat main municipal concert hall, adaptated from the ex-Veterinary Institute's historical buildings located at Grochowska Street in Warsaw.
The Competition task consists in developing an architectural and urban concept of the development of the former Veterinary Institute complex for the purpose of the seat of Orkiestra Sinfonia Varsovia. The task includes the preparing of conceptual architectural designs of the adaptation of the existing listed buildings as well as designing the main city concert hall of the seating capacity of 1800.
The objective of the Competition is to indicate the best design of Warsaw’s new cultural centre related to Orkiestra Sinfonia Varsovia. The new centre will not only be an attractive place to present classical music and other genres of art, but also a place to spend free time. Any Competition entry must take into consideration the international, regional and local dimensions of this undertaking.
Submission Requirements:
In Stage I of the Competition the Participants submit sealed parcels containing:
(a) Two boards of the 100x70 cm format
(b) An A3 format brochure containing all boards printed in this format and a description on two A4 or one A3 format page
(c) A CD or a DVD disc containing an electronic PDF recording of the following elements: board 100x70 cm, a legible foreshortening of a board of the 100x70 cm format to the A3 format; description.
(d) One sealed envelope containing a filled out identification card
